Good Stress

This is Harriet. Welcome to the Happy Minute. Did you know that there is such a thing as good stress? We all associate stress with negativity, anxiety, inability to manage and handle, but we need good stress in our bodies. You’ve all heard of the fight or flight response. We need those almost, shall I say, negative feelings to kick in, to enable us to do certain things. For instance, we have to meet a deadline. We feel very stressed. We need it. We need that stress to get us moving, to meet that deadline. When there’s a dangerous situation, we need those stress hormones to kick in, to get us to fear and to fly away and to fight it off; so we need it for survival. The key is how do we manage the negative stress, but at least for now, let’s know that we need the good stress too.
