Powerful Life Statements by Katrina Kenison

My interview with Katrina Kenison is to date my most popular interview.  It got picked up by numerous blogs, quoted, referred to and linked to more than any of my other 25 monthly interviews of the past two years.   I’d like to highlight a few of Ms. Kenison’s key and poignant statements.

A gift cannot be placed into a closed fist, and not much can enter a closed heart or a mind that’s turned in upon itself. “  Are you open to seeing and receiving the goodness and beauty that’s there for the taking?

“What is the loving thing to do here?”   By answering this question we can discover and operate from a whole new part of ourselves.

It’s not about being perfect, it’s about being fully present to what IS.”  Herein lies the challenge – dealing with what IS.  It’s about acceptance and making what we’ve got as good as possible.  And working to change what we can.

Meaning is where we find it, and in how we choose to spend our days.”  We set up our lives around our values and priorities and it’s up to us to determine how we spend our time.  Time runs away with us or without us on board; we plug into time our slots of importance and meaning.

Having been given life, it is my challenge to recognize and appreciate its beauty.”   What are we doing with the gift of life?  Are we bemoaning it under the weight of hardships?  Herein lies another challenge: can we rise up above the difficulties and take in the wonder and awesomeness of life?

“Letting go cleared a space in which new life could begin to grow.”  Until we release our ties to the past, we’re unable to notice and take in the possibilities that await us.   What are you letting go of?

There is a relief in surrender, a beauty in acknowledging that our white-knuckled grip on life isn’t serving us or anyone else.”   Sometimes we hold on so tight to what we want and can’t get that we lose the chance of getting anything.  We become blinded by our stance of ‘rightness’ and see nothing else.  Loosening our grasp widens our scope of vision.

Whenever the choice is between dancing or sitting it out, dance.”    Apropos to this line is a beautiful song, I Hope You Dance   http://youtu.be/RV-Z1YwaOiw
