You know those stories we all tell about our kids’ care team professionals who don’t have a clue? The ones who clearly don’t know at all what life is like outside their 15-minute office visit with our child and her challenges? My guest today is NOT one of those professionals! Harriet Cabelly is a Life Coach who’s also a mom of a grown child with special needs. She specializes in helping individuals and families rebuild their lives – and grow into even better ones – despite challenges they face. I’m excited to introduce her to everyone here today!

Can you share with me what coaching program/training you used? And also if you would recommend it to others now that you’re on the other side of it?

Welcome to this blog. Thanks for coming by.
The coaching program is called Mentor Coach headed by Ben Dean: http://mentorcoach.com/ The basic foundations course is 9 months, done by phone. And then you can continue on with elective classes. I did not continue on because I already have my social work license. But perhaps I still may take a course or two down the road, specifically in marketing.
I definitely would recommend this program. Teachers are very good and people are from all walks of life. The more you put into it, in terms of reading and doing the homework, the more you’ll get out of it. Hook up with a partner and do the role plays. I always looked forward to my Monday nite class and then to doing the homework.
